After 20 years working in the corporate software and engineering world, I have recently started getting involved in the world of open source development, with a particular interest in Bitcoin and other freedom-enhancing technologies.
After getting into Bitcoin in 2017, I started building and running various types of nodes, excited by being able to take control of my own assets and the thought of being able to send money permissionlessly. Since then, I have delved deeper down the rabbit hole building signing devices and deploying more self-soveriegn tools to reduce my dependency on big tech.
I work a full-time fiat job in the tech world, but want to devote more of my time putting my experience to use helping others get into the Bitcoin world, and hopefully get involved in contributing to new or existing projects where my skills can be of use.
Being in Northwest England, far from the fancy Fintech centres of the world, my focus is entirely on creating tools for regular people and small businesses to use, encouraging adoption and building local communities.
